As a developer on the Sandbox team, you will have a hand in defining the technology that runs Salesforce. You will join a team of world-class, highly motivated software engineers and database experts to deliver a high-quality software architecture with the scalability and performance needed to match the staggering growth of our service. You will be building the technology that intelligently and securely replicates customer data within the Salesforce infrastructure, optimizing for areas such as performance, capacity, and data residency among others. You will need deep experience with concurrency, distributed systems, proficiency with solving real-world data management challenges in large data systems, a strong understanding of how to architect solutions that are highly available, scalable and a proven ability to design, develop, and optimize the core back-end systems.
Responsibilities
Design and implement major pieces of the customer sandbox front end and routing logic, as well as the underlying engine and database infrastructure that supports data replication, logical corruption detection
Formulate, implement, and evaluate algorithms and database techniques to support service scalability and stability
Design and develop test frameworks to test and deploy infrastructure enhancements
Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovation that improves system availability, scalability, resiliency, and performance
Mentor junior teammates and drive initiatives around engineering excellence and sound development principles
Be a great team player and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve common goals
Qualifications
Strong back end Java development experience with in-depth understanding of OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms and concurrency
Strong hands on experience with designing and developing scalable applications and implementing testing frameworks
Development experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, or other database technologies
Deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic agile team environment
Growth mindset and willingness to solve challenging problems and learn
Other Desired Skills
Good understanding of schema design and SQL development
Experience with agile software development, and short release cycles
Experience building a high-performance, large-scale application
