Job Requirements / Description

Purpose of the Team: Working on a design system library and a documentation site built with React.

Key projects: This role will contribute to this site as described as a full-stack application developed from the ground up, incorporating Next.js and featuring Figma connections. The team's focus is on creating and maintaining these projects, which are crucial for their operations.

Candidate Requirements

  1. Years of Experience Required: 10+ overall years of experience in the field.
  2. Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field is a preference for this role.
  3. Disqualifiers: Candidates who have not consistently worked with React for at least six years, who have not worked closely with design or PM, job hopping, not focused on UX, GITHUB, and candidates whose resumes do not match their actual profile during the interview will be rejected.
  4. Best vs. Average: Experience in working on open source projects or being involved in the open source community, Azure experience and prior MSFT which is considered a nice-to-have but not a hard requirement.
  5. Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quality of work.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

  1. Minimum 6+ years experience with React development and web component creation.
  2. Minimum 8+ years experience with Accessibility expertise.
  3. Minimum 8+ years experience in supporting customers, particularly in a team-heavy environment with a focus on chat and occasional calls for issue resolution.

  2. Assessment Process: The assessment process will include 1-2 rounds.

Summary: The main function of the UI Engineer is to write specifications, develop, test, and publish Web Components for an internal UI Library.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Writes Technical Specifications against a Design Requirement Specification.
  2. Develops Web Components using the Lit framework against the technical specification.
  3. Performs unit testing at the page level.
  4. Sets code standards and leads code reviews.
  5. Reviews specifications and provides time estimates on the development of projects and features.
  6. Prioritizes projects and deliverables.

  1. Web Component development, testing, and documentation.
  2. React component development, testing, and documentation.
  3. Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  5. Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within front-end development.
  6. Bonus: Open Source Projects or involvement in the Open Source community.

Contract Duration: 10 months

Pay Range: 67-72
