Transwestern’s Mid-Atlantic region is seeking a self-motivated, collaborative, and highly creative individual to join our team as a Graphic Designer. This position will focus on the ability to understand a potential client’s brand and build strategic expressions through graphic design in the form of digital, print, and environmental collateral including brochures, email campaigns, marketing centers, environmental graphics, presentations, and other strategic outlets. The ideal candidate is a highly-creative individual with the ability to develop client-focused strategies and design work in a fast-paced environment in support of regional marketing initiatives and business development. In addition to being a top-tier designer, this role requires someone who is a team player, embraces design feedback in its many forms, and is an avid and epic communicator with both internal teams and external clients.

Essential Job Functions

  • In collaboration with the Regional Marketing Director and Creative Director, provide design strategy and implementation of marketing and communications collateral for regional marketing team and executive leadership in support of Transwestern initiatives and client needs.
  • Craft compelling design narratives and concepts that showcase varied clients’ goals and projects.
  • Work with Creative Director to design elevated concepts, templates, and finished work that creates efficiencies for the team and continually showcase design excellence, elevating the work of the entire team and region.
  • Conceptualize, plan, design, and manage production of a wide range of collateral--from simple to complex—across various media types.
  • Coordinate production of design work across various scales as well as produce brochures and small collateral using our in-house production technology.
  • Design for internal initiatives including service line newsletters, internal leadership communications, regional client newsletters, local and regional events and tradeshows under direction of regional marketing and creative directors.
  • Efficiently tackle any additional design opportunities assigned by regional marketing and creative directors.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, or similar.
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ of experience in a Graphic Design role, preferably with a design, architecture, advertising, or professional services background.
  • Design portfolio (PDF or website) is required for consideration.
  • Technical excellence/high proficiency using the Adobe Creative Cloud family, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat DC/Pro.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams required.
  • Working knowledge of HTML5 and basic web design—templates and front end—required.
  • Ability to provide strategic thinking and recognize competitive advantage opportunities for Transwestern and our clients, leveraging these in marketing and communications collateral.
  • Foundational understanding of typography, composition, hierarchy, color, and information design.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Works well in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate and visualize ideas, concepts, and design critiques as well as show and explain design process.
  • Boundary-pushing, forward thinker, especially in regards to strategies for communicating collateral across digital media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with region leadership and marketing and communication teams.
  • Fast learner and willing to be in constant learning of new abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work with diverse project teams, on multiple deadlines, and in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong production skills—for inhouse produced collateral--and knowledge/communication of print requirements for out-of-house produced collateral of all scales.
  • Ability to change course/direction on projects or at a moment’s notice reprioritizing tasks and timelines.
  • Enthusiastic about becoming an expert on how to uniquely communicate the company’s vision through visual communication.
