LinQuest is seeking an Associate DevSecOps Engineer. US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance are required.

The Associate DevSecOps Engineer will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Assist with architecture and build of custom software solutions while working with other developers and SMEs. Assist with breaking down complex problems into smaller, more manageable components. Assist with performing code reviews of others’ contributions and take ownership over the code base and integration with other systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with monitoring and updating systems and software to eliminate vulnerabilities and exposures.
  • Assist with scanning, testing, and hardening the security of software.
  • Engage in self-study and training to stay current with emerging technologies and processes.
  • Participate in sprint planning sessions, reviews, daily stand ups, and other agile collaboration activities with teammates, leadership, and product owners.
  • Assist with project documentation.
  • Support test and evaluation events.
  • Assist with breaking down system/subsystem level problems methodically and into their components.
  • Research and develop algorithms.
  • Contribute to overall system design with architects.
  • Assist with soliciting requirements or feedback from clients and/or product owners.
  • Support the development and configuration of DevOps.
  • Assist with designing APIs and other system interfaces.
  • Assist with the scope of requirements and complexity of designs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or related field
  • 0-3 years of experience in DevSecOps
  • Experience producing code in a team setting utilizing modern DevOps toolchains while following agile processes (this includes using Git for source control)
  • Familiarity with containerization and container orchestration
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Familiarity with load balancers, reverse proxies, and related tools at scale (Nginx/Envoy/etc)
  • Familiarity with IAM, RBAC/ABAC, OIDC, and other AuthN/AuthZ methods
  • Familiarity with architecting multi-stage CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins (or equivalent)
  • Familiarity programming in multiple languages such as Python, JavaScript, Go, Java
  • Familiarity working in Agile teams and associated tools (JIRA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, ELK
  • Familiarity with IAC tools such as Ansible, Helm, Terraform/OpenTofu, Pulumi
  • Familiarity with SQL, NoSQL, and graph databases
  • Familiarity with file queues, DB clusters, and disaster recovery
  • Familiarity with cloud-native products (Lambda/Firebase/etc)
  • Familiarity with build and test tools of various languages (Maven/Composer/etc)
  • Familiarity with service mesh and mTLS (Istio/Linkerd/Cilium/etc)
  • Familiarity with Linux Administration across multiple distributions
  • Passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications and engineering tools
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance by the federal government

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Proficiency in full stack development
  • Proficiency in High Availability (HA) systems
  • Cybersecurity-related certification (CEH, SSCP, GCIH, OSCP, CKS)
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements for development, deployment, and operation of software
  • Familiarity with tools, environments, and processes leveraged within AF MS&A community
  • Mathematics and Statistics
  • Data Visualization Design
  • UI/UX Principles

Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from approximately $65,000 to $87,500 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
