Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) , named a "Zweig Group's "Best Firms to Work For." is a consulting firm with a team of engineers, planners and other related design professionals is actively seeking to add a site development engineer to our Springfield, IL team to work directly with others to formulate engineering design of multi-faceted projects. Projects associated with this position vary but are all civil-related, including but not limited to commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial site development with associated roadway improvements and assisting clients with project development.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Working closely with other engineers, architects, and project managers in planning, design, construction, coordination, and execution of complex projects while maintaining conformance with engineering standards, established practices, and applicable codes.
- Master planning, terrain modeling and earthwork analysis, site utility conveyance and permitting, hydrologic & hydraulic analysis and design, stormwater detention and water quality design, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), pavement marking and signing plans, traffic signal and lighting design
- Complete preparation of construction drawings and technical specifications for roadway and site development projects.
- The ability to work in a team environment involving multiple engineering disciplines and assist client management and operations.
- Strong organizational & communication skills as work tasks vary and may include design, report writing, field investigations, cost estimating, construction observation, attendance at client meetings, and overnight travel to project sites.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- 5+ years of experience in engineering practice
- Fundamentals of Engineering Certification
- Strong technical skills to include experience with Microsoft Office products with exposure to computer-aided drafting software, such as AutoCAD
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple competing deadlines
- Ability to accept periodic out of town travel assignments and work overtime as needed
- Ability to work in the field as needed
- Valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record
- A Professional Engineer's License
- Previous experience in site development and drainage
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and various hydraulic modeling software such as Storm and Sanitary Analysis or Pond Pack.
