Sound like a familia you're ready to join? Here's the details on what we are looking for in this position:
 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage the substation engineering team, including physical and protection & control (P&C) engineers, designers, and drafters. 
  • Oversee the design and delivery of substation projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and client specifications. 
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers, particularly in areas such as QA/QC, system protection, and power system analysis. 
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams to track project progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with client expectations. 
  • Assist with resource planning and allocate team members to meet project deadlines.
  • Review and approve design packages, including one-line diagrams, relay and metering designs, and physical arrangements for substations ranging from 4.16kV to 500kV.
  • Support the department supervisors in identifying training needs and implementing development programs. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Substation Engineering and Business Development teams to identify and pursue new opportunities for department growth. 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in substation design or a related field, with a focus on both physical and P&C engineering. 
  • Proficiency in substation design, including breaker upgrades, bus protection, and transformer replacement. 
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (NERC, NEC, IEEE, NEMA). 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent. 

Licenses/Certification Required:
  • P.E. License
