Job Requirements / Description
Responsibilities:
Provide expert support for production Application databases with respect to availability, reliability, and integrity Provide expert support for Applications databases in the development and test environments Work with Application developers and their logical data models, create physical Application database designs which conform to industry standards (e.g.,data normalization), optimize performance and efficiently utilize disk space, size tables and indexes for production implementation based on projected row counts provided by Applications Create complex new databases and Application database objects (eg, tables, indexes, procedures), and as requirements change, update data structures/objects in existing databases Coordinate production database deployment including tasks to promote database objects between environments (e.g. test to production) in support of Application requirements Provide technical leadership to Application developers in database capabilities and features, build efficient queries, database design, Application database Problem Resolution, and the use of database utilities Determine and implement appropriate Application database backup and recovery strategies, including decisions regarding frequency of backup and procedures for recovering Application database changes Perform production database recovery when necessary Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems, Oncall support when required.
Plan & execute Migrations/Upgrades Provides training to Team members Handle Escalations Performance Tunning Clustering, Mirroring, Replications Work with customer closely and share weekly updates Assist Application developers in the logical design of Databases Evaluates Database designs for all Databases and provide recommendations for improvement.
Participate in New Project/Application development design sessions and provide Database design recommendations.
Participate in data warehousing and business intelligence Database designs.
Qualifications
BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education or experience, Master s Degree Preferred 09+ Years of experience in information technology, with at least Five years of experience as a relational database administrator Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, object-oriented technology, data warehousing, and relational database engines Advanced experience working with Oracle DB 12C and/or 19C. Experience working with RMAN, OEM and RAC Advanced proficiency in analytical, project planning, negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral) SQL database knowledge will be added advantage Universe database or DB2 knowledge
