Hours are non-negotiable / 1st Shift Core 8 hours: 6AM-2:30PM All employees need to be available between the hours of 5AM and 3:30PM when overtime is required. Saturdays will be required when overtime is needed
Requirements
BASIC FUNCTION:
Puts program into CNC turret lathes, sets-up and operates one or two numerically controlled horizontal turret lathes to machine a wide variety of metal and non-metal parts according to print specification to meet plant quality and production standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Puts program into CNC turret lathes.
  2. Reads process sheets and blueprints to operate three NC horizontal turret lathes.
  3. Insures adequate coolant flow; detects and remedies malfunctions when possible.
  4. Remedies excessive tool wear.
  5. Observes correct machine operation as to cutting speeds, feed rates, dimension specifications and tolerances, cutting tools, barstock and other miscellaneous supplies and materials.
  6. Observes numerical displays on control panel comparing data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machine cutting speeds.
  7. Over-rides controls as required to correct machine performance.
  8. Verifies conformance of workpieces to print specifications using micrometers, calipers, and fixed gauges making adjustments and corrections as necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Six months commercial, vocational, or other specialized training beyond high school.
Experience: Three to four years related experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Manual Dexterity: Work requires regular speed and accuracy for most of the working day.
Physical Effort: Work requires a considerable variety of fairly steady active physical exertion.
Working Conditions: More frequent exposure to disagreeable features.
Hazards: Injury may require a doctor's care. Time lost for part of a day may be to receive medical treatment.
