PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN ILLINOIS. RELOCATION WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION. ALL INTERESTED CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON-SITE AND RELOCATE FOR THE POSITION.
The Engineering Manager will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of a highly skilled engineering team while ensuring company objectives and goals are met.
Job Summary:
This person would be responsible for leading 3-4 employees and will directly oversee the engineering department. This is a hands-on role, and the engineering manager will perform the following duties:
- Provides hands-on support with engineering project requirements.
- Leads and coordinates various engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, sales support, production support, and development of new and existing product lines.
- Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
- Ensures projects comply with specifications, timelines, and elevator code.
- Reviews work and projects for technical accuracy.
- Establishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of elevator codes and compliance requirements.
- Must have prior experience working in accordance with ASME 17.1 elevator codes and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Innovative with a “think outside the box” mentality.
- Proficient with utilizing AutoCAD software.
- Thorough understanding of engineering theory and design criteria.
- Thorough understanding of applied math and physics.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience leading an engineering team.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
