Job Requirements / Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical/engineering delivery of O&M scope of works with a number of interfaces and coordination to manage within one or more of Avangrid’s Offshore projects, providing O&M engineering support (e.g. L1, L2, L3 engineering and architecture or lifecycle of hardware), assistance and recommendations to ensure delivery of O&M work within time, to budget and quality following industry best practices and observing the maximum focus on Health, Safety and the Environment to ensure regulatory and legal compliance
  • Implement offshore standards, procedures, tools, best practices, and quality requirements
  • Provide O&M solutions / risk levels affecting technical integrity of asset performance to the O&M Engineering management, to ensure that cost effective O&M solutions are identified, fully evaluated and the risk profile is fully understood by the O&M teams.
  • Ensure that all assessment, advice, and recommendations are fully documented in accordance with all internal procedures and industry best practice, and that sufficient technical and commercial due diligence (whether internal or external) exists to support those business decisions.
  • Ensure appropriate lessons learned regarding offshore wind farm operation and Maintenance are captured and shared across the different Offshore Projects
  • Assist in the protection of asset values and production revenues within the Offshore Wind Business
  • Broad range of technical scopes and problems to understand, assess and assist in managing

Required Qualifications

  • A degree or equivalent in telecom, computer science, information systems or an engineering discipline.
  • Computer literacy, competent with the skills required for the roles e.g. experiences with IT/OT, telecom circuits and systems like SCADA applications.
  • Expert knowledge of a relevant area of technical specialty; Telecoms, IT/OT.
  • Significant experience in engineering industry. Renewables/power .
  • Problem solving – dealing with conflicting requirements and overcoming obstacles
  • Experience and understanding of technical due diligence.
  • Management of Suppliers and contractors to ensure scope of works/contract delivery
  • Management of Consultants/technical advisors to deliver key advice and compliance
  • Good organizational and operational skills with the ability to link this awareness to technical judgement and decision making
  • Good planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and anticipate problems and thereafter plan and implements mitigating solutions to negate the effect of such problems.
  • Ability to support the management of a scope of works which require interface and coordination.
  • Advice on the impact of technical/ specialist risks and issues and the viability of solutions recommended.
  • Coordinate project members and key expertise from various departments to deliver project objectives and minimize costs/ risks.
  • Collaborate with Contract Managers to aid their procurement and management of key contracts and terms/ specification to secure best value and minimize costs/ risks.
  • Interaction with certification and regulatory bodies on technical matters.
  • Coordinate with Corporate and Business functions to ensure compatibility of the asset integrity management systems with the wider business processes
  • Developed report writing, presentation skills and ability to summarize a parameters and drivers impacting the scope of works.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work, manage decision-making processes under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Flexible to travel to Onshore and Offshore locations
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Ability to complete GWO basic safety and sea survival training
  • Ability to complete HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training)
  • Ability to access Offshore substation and wind turbine assets

Qualifications

  • Experience of offshore sector
  • knowledge and experience with wireless technologies like microwaves, TETRA, Wi-Fi, LTE/4G/5G in the renewables applications
  • Experience with high availability telecommunication systems
  • Experience of contracting, engineering design or delivery
  • Postgraduate experience, preferably in operation of wind farms
  • Knowledge of H&S and environmental legislation associated with marine/offshore operations projects
  • Foreign (Spanish)
  • Knowledge and experience of engineering contracts
