Leidos is seeking a talented Software Engineer in Ann Arbor, Michigan to support the creation of novel remote sensing applications for UAVs!

As a member of a small development team, you will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to multiple components of the software ecosystem. From low-level backend algorithm optimization to frontend UI/UX design, and all the layers in between, you will be able to exercise and grow your technical skillset under the guidance of our staff engineers. This is an opportunity to use your software expertise to conduct applied research, software development, and transition new and innovative solutions to address difficult surveillance problems in the defense and intelligence communities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Working with teams on the research, design, and development of sensor exploitation systems including signal processing, sensor exploitation, automatic target recognition, and signature modeling.
  • Collaborating with our customers to address challenging mission requirements by researching and developing new capabilities as well as making improvements to existing systems.
  • Rapidly and iteratively implement new algorithms to address these challenges.
  • Provide technical leadership for tasks and programs

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years or Master's degree with 2+ years of experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineer, Physics, or Applied Mathematics.
  • Strong programming ability in C/C++ for Linux environments
  • Knowledge of code configuration control
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to coworkers, teammates, and customers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience extracting information from LIDAR data
  • Experience with SQL and RDMS
  • Experience with real-time software development
  • Experience with OpenGL/CUDA development
  • Experience developing computer vision applications
  • Experience with automatic target recognition technologies and concepts
  • Experience processing radar/SAR image data
  • Experience with machine learning techniques applied to sensor data exploitation
  • Experience with multi-sensor data fusion
