Candidates got rejected as they were lacking python skills and enterprise level python skills.
Some candidates were good in python, but they were lacking Networking skills.
Strong on python scripting language. Less on Networking is fine.
Building the API. Department is Network services.
Python will be used for Automation and domain would be Networking.
Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP) and concepts (i.e., VLAN, ACL).
Looking for Python developer who can write code from scratch not just a scripter. but should have worked on Networking domain.
Final interview would be in person, but it is not mandatory.
Mostly there would be verbal questions.
Job Description: Develop and maintain the automation toolset (Python and legacy tools in Perl) for device asset discovery, data collection, and reporting.
- Enhance existing scripts to improving workflows and network change management incorporating new technologies.
- Adapt and transform operational and/or functional needs into solutions.
- Conduct tooling audits to assess proper operational coverage and build remediation changes as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and feedback on network automation solutions.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify opportunities for efficiency improvement and optimization.
Required Skills: Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP) and concepts (i.e., VLAN, ACL).
- Familiarity or prior experience with Ansible Tower or Ansible Automation Platform for managing network devices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, for creating new API based services and supporting existing scripts.
- Experience of 8-10 years relevant to above skills.
- Understanding of RESTful API principles, HTTP methods, requests and authentication handling, and data serialization.
- Experience with version control systems like Git (BitBucket/GitHub).
- Knowledge of software lifecycle principles and practices, integrating automation into a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
- Knowledge of database management systems like MongoDB for storing and retrieving data.
- Problem-solving skills to identify automation opportunities and optimize existing workflows.
- Ability to write clear and concise documentation for users and fellow developers.
Preferred Skills: Experience in frameworks like Flask or Django for building APIs.
- Relevant certifications in Networking (CCNA/CCNP) or RedHat Ansible.
- Note: At client, client is looking for Network Automation engineer to join Automation and Tooling team within networking domain.
- The team is responsible for the creations of methods and tools to reduce change management complexity, enhance pre/post change validations, and collect network state information covering various protocols.
- The Network Automation engineer will help the team in its efforts to discover device asset and operational state data through building necessary tooling, and database.
- Right candidate is someone who owns the problems and is able to demonstrate leadership and responsibility for the delivery of new features as well as working on complex legacy source code.
