Description:
The MediaKits engineering team is looking for a talented Backend Data Engineer with a passion for process and doing things the right way. We're a small and devoted team working towards enhancing the creator economy and giving social media creators more power, so an ideal candidate would have some affinity toward that goal. MediaKits is an early startup, so you must be prepared for a fast moving environment and be ready to "wear lots of hats". The team has a culture of supporting each other when needed, even when tasks fall outside of the scope of our positions. You will become our "data integrations expert", and will start the beginning of what could evolve into its own team, responsible for the data we obtain, how it's stored, and how it's provided.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and automate Micro ETL pipelines; Execute data manipulations to meet requirements.
- Assist in the development of APIs that interface with databases that you populate.
- Participate in development of test plans and conduct quality assurance testing of own work and that of peers.
- Work collaboratively with software engineers to define infrastructure and data requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis for production errors.
- Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas.
- Support and monitor frequent releases to feature, staging, and production environments.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience as a Data Engineer or similar software engineering role.
- Developing applications with Amazon Lambda and Elastic Beanstalk in NodeJS.
- Experience in developing or contributing to public/private APIs.
- Proficient with git and git workflows.
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL/NoSQL schema best practices.
- Developing with AWS services, like AWS SQS, AWS SNS, workflow, etc., with relevant SDKs.
- Understanding of cloud reference architectures and AWS best-practices.
- Familiarity with social media APIs is a huge plus (YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year depending on experience.

Experience:
Backend Data Engineer: 3+ years (Preferred)
