Job Summary
The Office of Digital Communications in the Division of Strategic Communications, Government and External Affairs is currently seeking a Student Junior Full Stack Engineer Assistant, to join their team of web professionals. This role will assist with the management of client websites and their base templates by developing and deploying enhancements and bug fixes.
Duties to include:
- Assists in the communication and handling of client requests.
- Assists in the development of new and existing web template features.
- Assists in the reporting and remediation of accessibility issues.
- Assists in the research, testing and implementation of new techniques, frameworks and utilities.
- Keeps abreast of industry trends and technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Majoring in Computer Science or demonstrable knowledge and experience in web development.
- Experience in web development technologies including back-end languages and frameworks, content management systems, front-end scripting and libraries and code management and deployment.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.
Student Disclosure
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
- During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
- Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.
Work Schedule
20hrs a week
Advertised Salary
$14.00/hour to $15.00/hour
