About Seam

Seam builds an API for controlling IoT devices. Our customers range from small startups to publicly traded tech companies. Customers use Seam and our API to orchestrate a bunch of real-world operations from their applications, such as granting access to a hotel room or Airbnb, letting in a FedEx delivery, or even reducing their energy usage and carbon footprint.

Seam is backed by Tiger Global, Root Ventures, YC, founders from WhatsApp, Flexport, and execs at Stripe, Plaid, Fastly, and Airbnb, and many more.

About the Role

We're building an API for the physical world. Though our primary product is an API, we build tools & products that are user-facing. From our interactive API docs to device management dashboards, there is a slurry of things to work on. Ultimately, all these products need to enhance what developers, their teammates, and their organizations can do with their code: from unlocking doors to monitoring energy use. The dual challenge is that those products need to be trivial enough to use for a non-technical stakeholder while being powerful enough for organizations that need to orchestrate millions of devices at once.

In this role, you will start by talking to users to understand their pain points and desired outcomes. Spend time researching the broader set of solutions, and ultimately, get to work to ship products. Our company prides itself on moving fast and precisely. We abhor unnecessary processes or complexity. We want to work alongside kind souls with sharp minds.
