This role can work out of one of our 3 offices: Monrovia, Fullerton, Upland.
As a Civil Designer, you will be integral to the success of our diverse and specialized projects, including public works, wastewater systems, water supplies, erosion control, underground utilities, and traffic control plans. Your role will involve designing and drafting with precision, as well as assisting project managers and engineers in determining project costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Drafting : Create detailed 2D and 3D designs of infrastructure systems, such as piping, utilities, roadways, reservoirs, and wells using CAD programs.
- Plan Interpretation : Analyze civil engineering and building plans to guide system design. Interpret land surveys and maps to design grading and structures effectively.
- Project Support : Assist in determining materials, labor, and other costs. Submit design plans for review and approval and provide redline markup and comments for drafters.
- Technical Analysis : Perform technical calculations and produce engineering drawings including plans, profiles, sections, and details. Develop concept designs and provide technical design analysis.
- Education : Associate's Degree or Certification in Drafting, CAD, or a related field.
- Experience : 3-5 years of civil engineering design experience.
- Technical Skills : Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D (2017 or higher) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Project Management : Good project management skills with the ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to Detail : Exceptional attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills.
- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
