Title: Senior Software Engineering Consultant (Oracle / PL-SQL / Database)
Location: Position will be Hybrid (onsite for 1-2 weeks per month) in either Dallas, TX or Jersey City, NJ
Rates: - W2 / DIRECT ONLY
- HOURLY - 60-65 an hour on W2 + Benefits
- SALARIED OPTION - 120,000 - 125,000 annually, paid weekly, W2 + Benefits

Duration: Multi year - long term contract , budget firmly in place for 12+ months (with yearly extensions)
About the role:
Our industry leading financial services client is looking for a well versed Sr Oracle Developer to join a high visibility project for their top-end clientele - the nature of the work will be long term, on a multi-year contract (12-24+ month duration with extensions likely in 2025) - the team is seeking someone comfortable supporting both new development, maintenance, enhancements, and working with reporting tools all on home grown applications to come onto their team and hit the ground running in support of their Capital Markets applications. All application work will be performed hybrid (remote some weeks, on site for others, with the team either in TX or NJ, no travel is needed other than in-office collaboration days for sprint planning / team events / kickoffs for new projects)
Requirements of the Senior Oracle Development Consultant:
- 10+ years of experience in Oracle database development and design
- 3+ years of experience in a Unix/Linux environment, including basic Shell scripting
- Knowledge of SQL Server & T-SQL, Snowflake/Python/AWS is nice-to-have, but not required
- Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL and experience building both OLTP/OLAP and warehousing applications in Oracle
- Good knowledge of Oracle commands such as SQL PLUS and SQL Loader
- Advanced skills in data analysis, design, integration, and development for databases and associated application technologies where one would work to tune performance, troubleshoot queries, and work to develop stored procedures, triggers, and et cetera
- Basic DBA knowledge, the ability to have proficiency using roles, privileges to restrict access to DB objects is highly desired
- Financial services experience preferred (not required)
Requirements of the Senior Oracle Development Consultant:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of development best practices, agile methodologies, ability to pair with operations teams (Infrastructure / DevOps) and support the goals of the organization
- Ability to work independently, on a team with great leaders and hands-off managers who are trusting of their team to achieve the best results possible
- Deep understanding that additional requirements to the position may include mentoring junior developers, assisting other neighboring teams with their Database/Application/Support environments, and supporting both existing legacy systems as well as new cutting edge technologies simultaneously and the associated integrations will be a part of your role
