Job Description
Looking For: An Engineering Technician V for future support of the TACNET program in Norfolk, VA.

A week in the life of an Engineering Technician V:
- Design, develop, and construct major units, devices, or equipment
- Conduct tests or experiments
- Analyzes results and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance
- Reports result from general guidelines and specifications (e.g., size or weight requirements)
- Develop designs for equipment without critical performance requirements that are difficult to satisfy such as engine parts, research instruments, or special purpose circuitry.
- Analyzes technical data to determine applicability
- Design layouts, calculate design data and prepare layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc.
- May check and analyze drawings or equipment to determine adequacy of drawings and design and plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance.
- Determine test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures
- Conducttests using all types of instruments; analyzes and evaluates test results, and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.
- Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program; or High School diploma or GED.
- Cybersecurity Work Force (CSWF) qualified in 9 months.
At least Six (6) with degree/formal training or ten (10) years with HS/GED of practical experience in:
- Design, preparation and modification of engineering documents and drawings.
- TACNET, or other Navy C4I systems.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
