Process Engineer
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Process Engineer is responsible for the tracking and transferring of tooling and /or purchase various tooling required for plant manufacturing operations. The engineer should invent and/or support all new and existing technology to support the plant. Implement projects to improve and maximize our production, quality, profitability and safety from an equipment, process, and tooling perspective. The Technical & CI Manager fulfills the responsibilities of this role when vacant.

Process Engineer

The Process Engineer is responsible for the tracking and transferring of tooling and /or purchase various tooling required for plant manufacturing operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supervise Mold Maintenance Techs and monitor individual performance.
- Manage, work with all departments to optimize mold component life.
- Manage mold repair program. Identify, prioritize, schedule, implement and work with QA to validate mold repairs.
- Manage injection mold tooling projects built by outside vendors including designing, fabricating, receiving, and transferring to production.
- Work as part of cross-functional and cross-company action teams to problem solve product quality and production issues resulting from mold and assembly process design.
- A basic understanding of CAD and PowerPoint for communique with outside mold vendors to repair and/or replace damaged mold components.
- Assist in new equipment and tooling validation. Tasks include writing and executing validation documents as well as assisting with equipment start-up and troubleshooting.
- Improve/update current mold work instructions.
- Track tooling from removal to installation, assist in removal, set-up and repair as required.
- Assist in management of preventative maintenance program. Receives, distributes, supervises execution, collects and reports completed PM's.
- Provide technical expertise to Maintenance, Engineering and Production as required.
- Identify training needs and schedule training for Mold Maintenance Techs as required.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with all current OSHA safety standards.
- Provide support for the installation of new products, tooling and related processes; investigate tooling and process problems; make new product/process recommendations as necessary.
- Adhere to all Company policies and follow training procedures at all times.
- Use good housekeeping practices to maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area.
- Follow all safety rules and safety procedures.
- Carry out assignments and projects in a timely, diligent, safe, professional manner.
- Review production and operating reports and resolve issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university preferred, or six (6) to eight (8) years of relevant manager experience in a manufacturing environment in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
