Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Thanks for your interest in Oklo! We are searching for a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to join our team.

Position Description

SQA Engineers at Oklo facilitate the continuous development and deployment of our in-house reactor design and analysis pipeline. SQA Engineers focus on creating standardization, augmenting code cleanliness, and developing tooling to support Oklo's developers and quality assurance requirements.

Specific responsibilities may include:

SQA Engineers contribute to many areas of Oklo's software development, including, but not limited to:

1. Developing Software Quality Assurance procedures and managing their rollout to the team
2. Ensuring code quality and alignment with software requirements
3. Back-fitting and maintaining company-wide code standardization as well as defining and implementing code testing plans
4. Identifying possible improvements to processes, tools and CI/CD workflows and implementing them
5. Building tools to audit Oklo code repositories for their compliance with expected QA standards
6. Designing and implementing software release procedures and artifact retention policies
7. Developing and maintaining versioned code documentation sites
8. Supporting system-wide canary tests

Minimum Qualifications

We think the following are good indicators of qualifications to do this job:

1. Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering or similar
2. Experience with all parts of the software lifecycle (from planning to deployment) and/or software quality assurance programs and testing
3. Expertise in unit and integration testing
4. Experience in developing and implementing software quality programs
5. Experience with linting, static analysis, and code standardization
6. Familiarity with standard quality procedures
7. Fluency in Python
8. Proficiency in Git
9. Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)

Bonus Qualifications

1. Experience in growing small software organizations
2. Familiarity with nuclear quality assurance frameworks
3. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools or platforms (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, etc.)
4. Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Podman, etc.)
5. Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD
6. A passion for building clean documentation for readers of varying technical depth
7. Knowledge of Jira or another project management software

About Oklo compensation:

Salary: $68,000-$155,000. Salary may fall outside of the range provided and will be dependent on applicant experience.
