Software Engineer - Futures
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join their Futures team in Chicago. As a global leader in technology and trading, this team focuses on optimising market connectivity, improving access to futures markets, and developing state-of-the-art systems to enhance the execution and trading of futures contracts.
In this role, you will work closely with both trading and technology teams, taking ownership of projects that directly impact the business. You’ll need to demonstrate strong communication, creativity, and problem-solving abilities, along with a passion for driving technological innovation in the fast-paced world of futures trading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimise high-performance futures trading systems using C++ and/or Python.
- Lead independent projects of varying scope, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet business objectives.
- Collaborate with Quantitative Traders to drive technological advancements in futures trading strategies and systems.
- Provide rapid and effective solutions in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Strong experience as a software engineer, with deep expertise in C++/Python.
- Proven experience working on futures or related asset class trading systems, with a solid understanding of high-frequency or mid-frequency trading environments.
- Skilled in developing, optimising, and maintaining high-performance trading systems.
- Ability to manage large-scale, independent projects while delivering effective solutions.
- A strong academic background in a STEM field from a world-leading university.
