The main role is to provide technical assurance that drilling operations are planned and executed in a safe, compliant, and reliable manner on Noble's fleet of Jackup and floating rigs.
Responsibilities and Contributions
• Support rig and client operations with engineering and well control input when required.
• Actively participate in operational risk assessments, applying lessons learnt and providing technical support to the rig teams on client well plans
• Evaluate and make recommendations on contractual Well Control Bridging documents.
• Interface with and support NORMS in collaboratively assessing plans for critical well operations or responding to unplanned events.
• Perform methodical analysis, provide informed technical solutions to rig teams, management and clients on assigned projects
• Together with rig teams evaluate drilling programs, operational plans, and changes to same
• Apply Well Control principles in daily operations, and be able to shift focus from standard planned work to provide ad-hoc support when needed
• Assist in interpretation of relevant Drilling Standards and Noble Drilling procedures and make recommendations towards acceptance or rejection of internal and external deviations
• Maintain and update Noble Drilling Well Control Manuals
• Provide technical support to operator contractual due diligence processes
• Provide input to, and support drilling and well control training within Noble
• Travel offshore or to rig teams to provide technical support when required
• Prepare technical papers when Noble Drilling is involved in technical accomplishments or operations that push the boundaries of offshore drilling
• Provide engineering support for Managed Pressure Drilling operations
• Contribute to innovation initiatives, new technology evaluations, and proactive technical solutions to marketing/clients
• Cooperate with other organizational functions as required for business needs

Qualification requirements
• An Engineering degree
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Drilling Engineer including offshore wellsite experience
• Demonstrable ability to plan and design wells and carry out Basis of Design
• Demonstrable knowledge of the various aspects of Drilling, P&A, well intervention and completion operations
• Understanding of Well Control principles, procedures and techniques - preferably a part of previous work
• Versatility, calmness and ability to adapt to rapidly developing critical operational situations
• Solid grasp of Drilling Standards NORSOK, API 53, RP59, EI17, API 92 series
• Familiarity with Deep Water operations
• Familiarity with MPD operations and HPHT is an advantage
• Open mindedness and readiness to work as part of a small team supporting our 24/7 global drilling operations
• Good ability to collaborate and communicate upwards, downwards and laterally
• Valid IWCF certificate Subsea Level 4
• Fluency in English
• Ability to travel at short notice
