Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for various projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify scope and requirements.
- Conduct material and labor takeoffs to determine quantities and costs.
- Work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and other team members to gather information and ensure accurate estimates.
- Develop scope of work narratives to encompass inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, including cost breakdowns and supporting documentation.
- Provides technical advice and assistance during pass-over and budgeting process.
- Continuously develop knowledge of estimating practices, industry standards, and construction techniques.
- Education: High school diploma required.
- VOTECH/BIM experience highly preferred
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in construction, estimating, or a related field is preferred, but entry-level candidates with relevant internships or coursework will be considered.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., McCormick, Bluebeam) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Primarily office-based with occasional site visits as required.
- Standard office hours with occasional overtime during peak bid periods.
- Develop a thorough understanding of estimating processes and industry practices.
- Contribute to the accuracy and competitiveness of project bids.
- Build strong relationships with internal team members and customers.
- Achieve proficiency in estimating software and tools
- This is a full-time position. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
