The candidate will provide civil engineering services for our mining, infrastructure, and water resources projects in the United States.Your ImpactThe primary responsibilities for this position will be to provide operations oversight, maintenance coordination, and NPDES permit compliance services, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for a former phosphate mine and fertilizer production facility site.Provide civil engineering services and support Project Managers to deliver mining, infrastructure, and water resources project services to WSP’s public and private sector clientsProjects include site investigation, dams and levees design & inspection, mining infrastructure and tailings pond design, transportation, utilities and other civil works projectsKnowledge and experience in phosphate mining industry including clay settling area design and construction, mined land water management and reclamation, and gypsum stack design, operations and closureSupervise and lead civil / mining / geotechnical field investigation activitiesTechnical management of multi-discipline projects, coordinating project tasks, and ensuring the technical quality of deliverablesCollaboration and participation in technical discussions with WSP project management staffWho You AreRequired QualificationsBS in Civil, or related Engineering Discipline3+ years of experience in civil engineering design, preferably in the water resource & mining industryStrong academic background and solid understanding of soil mechanics and local Florida soils and geologyExperience with drilling, field investigations, and laboratory testingGood communication, report writing, interpersonal and presentation skillsSuperior time management, planning and ability to interact with clientsProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookMust pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyPreferred Qualifications:MS in Civil Engineering, or related Engineering DisciplineNPDES Industrial Wastewater permitting, monitoring, and reporting experienceExperience with operation, maintenance, and monitoring instruments of small scale lime treatment plantsCurrently registered or progressing towards registration as PE in FloridaDiverse experience in the following areas:o Earth dams and leveeso Mining, (tailings management and dam design, hydraulic structures, etc.)o Site closure and Construction QAQCo Stormwater/Process Water ManagementProficiency with H&H modeling software#LI-RR1About WSPWSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
