Role: Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid - Pittsburgh PA / Philadelphia PA / Cleveland OH / Jacksonville FL / Birmingham AL / Kansas City KS

Type: W2

Must have technical skills/experience:

1. Kafka 1-3
2. Minimal Python Programming Skills 1-3
3. Oracle Database Experience 1-3
4. Troubleshooting
5. ITSM/Change Management

Job Responsibilities:

1. Perform design tasks and develop components of application and technical architecture.
2. Develop test cases and data.
3. Execute tests for the application or technical architecture components, work with other programmers, designers, and architects to meet application requirements and performance goals.
4. Participate in code reviews, inform the technical architect and project manager of any issues that may affect any other areas of the project.
5. Fix any defects and performance problems discovered in testing, document the application to facilitate maintenance.
6. Assist with selecting appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions.
7. Develop software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; align these with business strategies and objectives.
8. Provide consultation on common issues and best practices for junior staff.
9. Provide a systematic analysis on client requirements within the traceability framework and resolve any functional problems encountered.
10. Ensure quality of project deliverables while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and processes.

Skills:

1. Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
2. Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
3. Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
4. Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.
5. Basic knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software.
6. Knowledge of computer development software across multiple platforms.
