DescriptionRing is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to help accelerate hardware development of high quality products. The candidate will support electrical engineering design and validation on new products as well as develop solutions for production phase products.Key job responsibilitiesPerform schematic design and PCBA layoutWork with Mechanical Engineers to integrate electrical assemblies into industrial designIdentify and test key electrical componentsWork with Quality Engineers to scope validation testing and debug issuesCreate and maintain design documentation including schematics, PCB layout files and bills of materialsAssist in prototype and test fixture developmentWork with Firmware Engineers to bring up new hardware and debug designsConduct field failure analysis and solution evaluation for production phase productsA day in the lifeAs a Hardware Development Engineer you will work with a cross-functional team to develop and design innovative consumer products for the Ring and Blink brand. You will work closely with internal team members and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and testing.About the teamThe Ring Solutions Hardware team (AKA: The Forge) is responsible for electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering activities for all Blink, Ring Alarm, and Ring Smart Lighting products. Our team is made up of talented EEs, MEs, and test engineers dedicated to delivering exceptional products, quickly and economically.Basic Qualifications2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experienceBachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or equivalentKnowledge of schematic design and debug skillsExperience working in Altium or similar eCAD toolsAble to operate basic lab equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters and power suppliesExperience building and troubleshooting electronics assembliesMust be able to read and interpret schematics and engineering specificationsExcellent organizational skills with strong attention to detailPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with embedded systems and/or wireless technologyExperience designing hardware productsExperience designing and testing to industry standards including FCC, UL, IEC, etc.Strong understanding of analog, digital and high-speed circuit designCapable of soldering and reworking electronic assemblies including all types of SMT componentsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
