Software Development Engineer II, AI/ML ADC

The AI/ML Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) team is at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions to our customers in isolated, air-gapped cloud environments. We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this rapidly evolving field, leveraging the power of cloud computing and the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies.

A successful Software Development Engineer II joining the team will work closely with Amazon's largest and most demanding government customers to address their specific needs across a full suite of AWS AI/ML services in air-gapped cloud environments. They will dive deeply into technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience. The ideal candidate will:

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities:

1. You design and deliver technology solutions that solve difficult problems related to AI/ML service builds and operations primarily in ADC partitions and regions.
2. You identify and solve ambiguous problems, architectural deficiencies, or areas where systems hinder the innovation of other teams.
3. You improve the resiliency, cost, performance, business, or customer value of AI/ML systems you own.
4. You collaborate with AI/ML service teams, influencing them to meet shared goals.
5. You contribute to technical project definition, scoping, and prioritization discussions for AI/ML initiatives.
6. You identify and mitigate extant risks in AI/ML systems you own.
7. You understand and follow ADC policies for information handling, access controls, and compliance requirements.
8. You foster a constructive dialogue with AI/ML customers and partner teams.
9. You participate in mentoring efforts and lead reviews of architecture, design, operations, and processes.

Minimum Requirements:

1. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
3. Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
4. Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
5. 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
6. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
