Sr. Android Engineer - Kohler Ventures
Work Mode: Hybrid
Location: Hybrid, 2-3 days/week onsite at Palo Alto, CA or NYC

Come join Kohler Ventures as Sr. Android Engineer, as we build a best-in-class global multi-disciplinary team across artificial intelligence, machine learning, design, advanced software and hardware engineering, strategy, venture investments, sales, marketing, and partnerships.
In your role as Senior Android Engineer at Kohler Ventures you will:
- Work directly with the Head of Software, software engineering team, and product teams.
- Design mobile architecture that can scale with the business growth of Kohler Ventures.
- Build the forward-looking vision and lead the effort to understand and drive requirements with hardware/software teams.
- Coordinate with product development teams to execute rollout/adoption of common libraries, services, and patterns.
- Measurably improve code normalization across one or more critical code concerns throughout the codebase.
Skills/Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's degree in a CS/engineering or related technical discipline from a reputed academic institution. Masters preferred.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software design and development for Android platform.
- Use Kotlin, Java, RxJava, Dagger, and other great tools to build smooth, stable, and fun products.
- Solid understanding of architecture patterns, namely MVVM and MVI.
- Minimal travel as needed.
- Availability to work outside of their normal business hours to collaborate with teams and vendors located across multiple time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mobile UI/UX design and development in iOS and/or Android.
- Ability to accomplish complex engineering tasks independently.
- Strong technical experience in some of the following areas:
- Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java or Kotlin).
- High-level understanding of cloud and mobile app technologies and associated communication protocols.
- Pairing, configuring, and testing Bluetooth peripheral devices.
Compensation
The approved base salary range for this position is $101,100-$155,800. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may be higher than the approved range. This will vary depending on a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
This position is subject to Area Salary Differential (Cost of Living Adjustment) that ranges from 24.5%-30% of base salary for the San Francisco Bay area. The approved base salary range including ASD for this position is $131,430-$202,540 depending on location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and a special project incentive. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401k.
