Database Migration Engineer (Developer) (Oracle to PostgreSQL Migration)

Mactores is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Database Developer to lead and execute the migration project from Oracle to PostgreSQL Migration. The ideal candidate will lead hands-on execution of migrating database objects such as tables, stored procedures, functions, and views from Oracle to PostgreSQL. The candidate will also be responsible for migrating the SQL statements within the application code to facilitate the migration.

What you will do?

• Migrate database objects from Oracle to PostgreSQL, including tables, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Collaborate with development teams to migrate Oracle and SQL statements within the application code, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
• Identify and implement performance optimization strategies to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of the migrated database.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including database administrators, software developers, and project managers, to ensure a coordinated and successful migration.
• Create comprehensive documentation for the migration process, including procedures, guidelines, and best practices.

What are we looking for?

• 3+ years of experience as a Database Developer, focusing on Oracle to PostgreSQL migration projects.
• In-depth knowledge of database design, migration strategies, and performance optimization.
• Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, and experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
