Role Definition

SEM supports the Project Technical Manager providing engineering coordination and carrying out of all activities in defined systems deemed critical for the project (i.e. underground network, 3D CAD model, complex package systems, modules, etc.).

Main tasks and responsibilities of SEM during projects execution will be:

1. Ensure carrying out of all engineering activities in defined engineering systems / plant areas that support procurement of materials and construction
2. Ensure coordination / supervision of multidisciplinary engineering activities for a defined system / plant area, carried out by external Saipem Engineering Operating Centres
3. Facilitate technical decisions in case of different positions or conflicts between disciplines
4. Ensure review / application of contractual documents within own area of responsibility
5. Supervise issue of multidisciplinary engineering deliverables within own area of responsibility
6. Ensure, within own area of responsibility, proper interdisciplinary verifications / controls during engineering activities
7. Manage changes in engineering limiting impact on construction feasibility
8. Participate in contract management giving technical support on variation requests / change orders
9. Support the Technical Manager in controlling material quantities and engineering man-hours during the course of the Project in order to anticipate potential misalignments and prepare dedicated recovery plans
10. Participate into Project Risk management and engineering reviews
11. Participate into constructability reviews, assuring that required actions are implemented into engineering design
12. Support Project / Technical Management in relation with the Client on 3D Model and defined engineering systems / plant area
13. Supervise start-up and execution of 3D Model activities until 3D Model hand-over to Site
14. Coordinate 3D model reviews supervising outcomes
15. Participate in defining / finalizing the plan / schedule of multidisciplinary engineering systems
16. Ensure preparation of engineering documents for a defined system / plant area giving correct priorities and sequences, as per defined plans / construction schedule
17. Ensure freezing of project engineering documents / engineering close out as per schedule for specific engineering systems/ plant areas
18. Contribute to project reporting / handover activities for engineering

Qualification

• Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams
• Knowledge of project management tools & methodologies
• Minimum 10 years of proven technical supervisory experience with people or projects
• Fluent in English , both written and verbal.
