These industries include but are not limited to mining, milling, aerospace, energy, and railroad. Most jobs are one-off components and large in nature. The jobs could be up to 168 in diameter by 50 tons in turning and 144 by 360 in milling and boring. We strive to complete all jobs timely, expertly and in the most safe, cost-efficient manner possible.About This RoleWe are looking for a skilled Machinist to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. You will produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements. The goal is to ensure effective operations and optimize procedures.Review samples, drawings, operate scanning equipment to create CAD modelsPlan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a jobTake measurements and mark material for cuttingSelect appropriate machines (e.g., lathes) and position or load material for a jobOperate overhead cranes & forklifts to place raw stockDetermine and program speeds and feeds of machine etc.Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damagesResponsible for personal safety and safety of co-workersOther duties as assigned by managementQualified Candidates Must HaveHigh school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an assetProven experience as a machinist utilizing manual machines tools & CNCMust have basic machining toolsPossess manual dexterity and an eye for detail & perfectionProficient with mathematics and analytical abilitiesExperience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, mills, grinders etc.)Ability to precisely use precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers)Knowledge of the properties of metal and other materialsAbility to fabricate parts/tools necessary for shop (including one-off fixtures)Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manualsRespect for all safety precautionsMust demonstrate excellent attendance patternsWorking Conditions & Physical DemandsWorking conditions vary day by day and require both indoor and outdoor activities.Must be able to exert 75 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 to 50 pounds of force frequently.
