Key Responsibilities:
- Performing design of tunnels, earth retention systems, rock and soil slopes and deep foundations.
- Designing rock and soil tunnel initial support using numerical and empirical methods.
- Preparing drawings and developing engineering reports.
- Developing and implementing geotechnical subsurface exploration plans.
- Preparing geotechnical data reports, geotechnical interpretive reports, geotechnical baseline reports, and geotechnical design reports.
- Participating in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and schedule performance.
- Interpreting geology, geotechnical and hydrologic conditions and understanding their impact on design and construction.
- Assisting in preparation of proposals.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 11 years of experience in geotechnical engineering with emphasis on underground structures.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain one within a year.
- Proven record of the use and supervision of PLAXIS software in projects.
- Prior experience with PLAXIS 2D and 3D and ITASCA software (FLAC 2D and UDEC) is highly preferred but not required.
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related disciplines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in rock and soil logging, rock tunnel mapping, and subsurface investigations is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in supervising junior staff.
Compensation Range: $122,808.00 - $163,744.00
