The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the oldest national civil engineering society in America, is currently seeking an association professional to support the technical programs by supporting the membership in identifying technical product opportunities, providing guidance and facilitating product development, leading special projects, and advising on industry trends to advance ASCE's mission.

Do you like working with others who are passionate about their work? We are looking for the right person to join our team of professionals providing water institute engineers with the resources they need to advance their careers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Spearheading technical activities within the institute and committees
  • Serving as liaison to the technical community executive committee
  • Serving as spokesperson for technical community of the institute
  • Facilitating the development of manuals of practice and technical briefs
  • Providing technical guidance to the Water Institutes technical program committees on technical program development for conferences and events
  • Working with program committees to develop, facilitate, and deliver technical content for Water Institute events including but not limited to virtual and in-person seminars, workshops, and other courses
  • Facilitating partnership agreements with local chapters for joint events
  • Developing and facilitating development of short courses, webinars, manuals of practice, and state of the art education through work with committees and ASCE's education division
  • Assisting with the supervision, effectiveness, training, and mentoring and evaluation of staff

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4-year college/university degree or equivalent broad knowledge in specialized field
  • 2-4 years of experience in project management and committee support.
  • Prior standards development experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated success managing people, projects, and processes
  • Thorough proficiency with the MS Office Suite
  • Some volunteer management experience preferred
  • The desire and availability to travel
