PROPULSION LIAISON ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the propulsion department’s primary point of contact for customer interaction and other business development activities
- Track vehicle certification activities
- Provide customer briefings including program status updates and technical anomaly discussions
- Review actions and follow-up on customer requests
- Field customer requests and inquiries to the greatest extent possible before tapping into additional engineering support
- Prioritize customer related work and the required engineering resources
- Maintain a database of documents and responses provided to customers
- Maintain relevant propulsion schedules for individual customers
- Support customer reviews as the propulsion liaison both onsite and offsite when required
- Answer questions and take actions when answers cannot be provided. Follow-up on all actions
- Arrange additional engineering support for reviews when required
- Proposal content creation, review, and editing
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
- 2+ years of professional experience interacting with commercial aerospace companies or government aerospace agencies
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience certifying commercial products for governmental use
- Liquid rocket engine development experience
- 3+ years of experience at a nimble engineering organization in a highly technical position that required a scrappy, entrepreneurial manner to accomplish tasks with tight time or budget constraints
- Deep understanding of thermodynamics, compressible and incompressible flow, thermochemistry mechanics, and materials
- Professional experience using Siemens NX (Unigraphics), ANSYS or Fluent
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals and the ability to perform basic analysis
- Positive attitude in the face of extreme challenges
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
