Greystones Group is seeking a Software Developer to support a modernization program with the Navy. The overall goal of the program is to develop an agile, flexible, and responsive workforce focused on being a proficiency-based learning organization with a solid foundation of shipyard departmental expertise and innovative technical, business, and interpersonal approaches. The Software Developer will be experienced in the full software development lifecycle with experience programming in Python, JavaScript, and preferably one more programming language.
Hybrid schedule reporting to Washington D.C. Navy Yard.

Major Duties/Tasks:
- Design and develop software requirements for multiple Navy based support capabilities including the software architectures, API’s, frameworks and libraries.
- Leverage speed prototyping process by developing front end and backend of software prototypes, components, and tooling.
- Work closely with management and internal stakeholders to assist with managing projects and processes.
- Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.
- Influences others regarding system design, solutions and procedures.
- Document requirements and specifications and reviews documentation provided by other teams and vendors.
- Deliver desired performance targets and devise tooling and methodologies to profile execution and capture performance to optimize software designs and architectures.
- Utilize advanced understanding and ability to apply software engineering standards, principles, theories and technical concepts obtained through experience and education.
- Record, develop and reports reference architectures and documenting compliance standards.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
- Experience with Java, Python and Javascript.
- Experience creating CI/CD pipelines.
- Experienced in the full software development lifecycle.
- Proficient technical writing skills.
- Experience in developing, editing, or integrating software like models, algorithms, and behaviors at the enterprise level.
- Strong knowledge of Agile Software Development.
- Experience with front end frameworks like React or Vue. Experience with backend frameworks like Node.js, Spring, Spring Boot, Django, Flask, etc.
- Experience with architecting and delivering successful complex software projects involving multiple modules, API’s and data integration and algorithm stacks.
