As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, Infatuation/Connected Commerce team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable, robust, and secure Java Spring applications.
  2. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of developers, ensuring best practices and high-quality code.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  4. Architect and implement scalable and maintainable microservices and cloud applications.
  5. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  6. Conduct code reviews, identify bottlenecks, and devise solutions to mitigate issues.
  7. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications leverage the best practices.
  8. Drive the adoption of DevOps practices, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  9. Develop and maintain technical documentation.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  1. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  2. Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  3. Advanced in Java and/or Go.
  4. Demonstrable knowledge of web architecture patterns (API design, data pipelines, design patterns).
  5. Comfortable working with large datasets and experience with ETL architectures.
  6. Experience with AWS S3.
  7. Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
  8. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming and database querying.
  9. Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  10. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  11. Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
