Senior Deployment Engineer

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Deployment Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Coordinate with customer sites to plan, schedule, and accomplish site deployments.
2. Conduct site surveys; assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements.
3. Travel to customer sites and perform deployment activities, including site surveys, installing hardware, device configurations, troubleshooting, etc.
4. Create and implement router and switch configurations.
5. Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
6. Manage and maintain system configuration including documentation, installation, planning, configuration, and evaluation of existing and new hardware.
7. Provide support to IT systems which includes day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices.
8. Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including network device configuration.
9. Coordinate inventory, hardware orders, equipment movement, and shipment of equipment.
10. Maintain awareness of security directives, orders, standards, plans, and procedures.
11. Create and maintain Visio network diagrams.
12. Draft and submit recommended change request proposals.
13. Ensure the architecture and design of the customer’s information systems are functional and secure.
14. Provide recommendations to enhance and improve the network and performance.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of related experience; a degree might be substituted by additional 4 years of systems engineer experience.
2. DoD 8570 Computing Environment Certification required within 6 months of hire; MCSA, VCP, or equivalent.
3. Experience with Microsoft Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 Servers; Microsoft Windows 10; administering Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and workstation and server hardware; administering Microsoft Office 2010/2016; administering DNS, Group Policy, and PKI; administering vSphere, Horizon View, data backup, and antivirus software; basic networking including DHCP/TCPIP; experience with deploying workstation images; and experience with thin and/or zero clients.
4. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Systems, HP SANs, VMware products.
5. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
6. Adept communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving management skills.
7. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
8. Experience using a Service Desk ticketing system, such as ServiceNow.
9. Must be willing to travel within the U.S. up to 50% and requires occasional (as needed) 5-10% OCONUS travel.
10. Valid US Passport.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Ability to operate under minimal supervision.
2. Experience in the following areas: hardware/software security, router and switch communications protocols, network management, encryption techniques, firewall rule definition, and authentication technologies.
3. Working knowledge of communication security (COMSEC) policies and integration.
4. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems, including DNS, Group Policy, and PKI.
5. Good working knowledge of applying security best practices from DISA and/or vendors.
6. Basic networking.
7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Clearance Requirements:

US Citizenship required and active TS/SCI clearance adjudicated within the last 6 years. Candidate must be open to random poly.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
