Job Summary: Power Supply Mechanical Design Supervisor


Location: New Milford, CT


The Power Supply Mechanical Design Supervisor will oversee a team of mechanical designers dedicated to developing high-power rectifiers and power supply products. This role combines leadership with hands-on design responsibilities using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Team Leadership: Guide and manage a team of mechanical designers to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets while adhering to customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Mechanical Design: Directly engage in mechanical design tasks, focusing on creating mechanical layouts for power supply systems, including enclosures, rectifier power sections, control sections, plumbing, and bus bars.
  • Project Management: Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project statuses in the MRP system, managing resources effectively to meet company objectives.
  • Documentation Creation: Utilize Autodesk Inventor to produce comprehensive documentation, including bills of materials, detail and assembly drawings, schematics, and installation guides.
  • Standardization Efforts: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize power converter designs, aiming to enhance quality and reduce delivery times.
  • Process Improvement: Develop design guides and work instructions, and troubleshoot production floor issues related to mechanical design.
  • Client Interaction: Interface with customers and vendors for project requirements and enhancements, and engage with subject matter experts as necessary.
  • Organizational Skills: Maintain professionalism, organization, and adaptability in all duties.


Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related industry, with at least 2 years in test/troubleshooting of industrial transformers.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electromechanical designs; proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD; skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated customer service orientation.
