The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting with professional civil engineering design, including, preparing construction drawings, specifications, opinions of cost, schedules, and reports; obtaining government approvals; reviewing construction submittals; observing construction; and maintaining client relations on assigned project. Duties: - Prepare topographic, boundary, and subdivision maps - Prepare preliminary engineering reports including analyses of grading and drainage, utility systems, and costs - Design streets and subdivisions, including grading, water, wastewater and drainage systems, and pavement and walkways - Design site improvements including grading, parking lots, driveways, and utility systems for commercial, industrial, or residential projects - Prepare project manuals, schedules, and opinions of cost - Prepare drainage reports including hydrologic and hydraulic computations - Review construction submittals including manufacturer's data and specifications - Coordinate with clients and other consultants Qualification Requirements - Applicants must have graduated from an accredited college or university with major work in civil engineering - Already an established licensed professional engineer or possesses a desire to obtain a license - Able to plan and organize work, supervise technicians, prepare written letters, memos, and reports, and work harmoniously with others - Knowledge of current civil engineering, land surveying, construction principles and practices, and methods of construction document production - Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, AutoCAD, and general-purpose land surveying and civil engineering computation and design software - Responsible for surveying work, including research, computations, field surveys, and preparation of maps and descriptions - Assist with producing documents and supervising engineer techniciansDisasterRecoveryJob
