A Senior Software Engineer at a leading Trading Firm. Python.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop tools and workflows that facilitate exploratory research.
• Design robust Python APIs to boost research productivity.
• Collaborate with researchers to implement studies, analytics, and production models for commodities trading.
• Define and maintain a Python research environment tailored for data-intensive workloads.
• Create web user interfaces for data exploration and delivery of research results.
• Build and optimize data and machine learning infrastructure to make trading datasets accessible and useful.
• Manage production workflows for real-time forecasting, modeling, and analytics in a Linux compute environment.
• Develop systems for backtesting and systematic trading strategies, deploying them into their production environment.
• Work with the research infrastructure team to leverage their Linux computer cluster.
• Collaborate with data management teams to refine data acquisition, storage, and accessibility processes.
  
  
  

• Extensive experience with Python and API design.
• Proven track record of building and scaling large-scale analysis or machine learning tools.
• Expertise in modern data technologies (Postgres, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow, dbt).
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (Plotly, Panel, Dash).
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices.
• Experience with strongly typed or compiled languages (e.g., Java, C++, Go, Rust).
• Ability to manage complex projects end-to-end, including stakeholder management, requirement gathering, and mentoring junior engineers.
