We are looking for you to join our team as a CAD/CAM Engineering Manager 2 based out of Sunnyvale, CA. In this role at Northrop Grumman, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide Hardware Engineering Organization. What you’ll get to do:
This position focuses on the management of the CAD (Computer Aided Design) drafting group within the Sunnyvale Marine Systems Engineering Department. Primary responsibilities include managing up to 12 direct reports to create solid models and drawings using CREO with Windchill and NX with Teamcenter, develop 2D/3D layouts, create detailed manufacturing drawings and revise existing CAD models, drawings and electronic images. You will apply knowledge of design, modeling and drawing practices and guide your team to solve design issues with the Engineering team. The drafting group is a represented team (union), and onsite presence is required.
Your responsibilities include:
- Manage workflow in the team to meet cost budgets and schedule deadlines
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels that commensurate with dynamic workloads
- Coordinate drafting needs with engineering managers, project engineers and program managers
- Establish and maintain standards and procedures for generation of models and associated drawings
- Collaborate with configuration management to ensure proper data configuration control, managing CAD Software configuration
- Plan and manage employee training and development, and employee performance evaluations
- Develop and collect metrics to support cost estimating for future work
- Develop plan to increase first time quality of group and conform to ASME requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years related experience or Master's Degree with 6 years related experience.
- Must have demonstrated leadership and teambuilding experience.
- Fundamental Configuration Management Principles knowledge.
- Experience with CAD Modeling in CREO and NX.
- Experience with PLM system, Windchill and Teamcenter.
- Thorough understanding of Model Based Engineering (MBE).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Salary Range: $138,100 - $207,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
