The foundation of a connected world, it’s a network free of the limitations of the past, and flexible enough to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of the changing world.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Device Engineer will work closely with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors/suppliers for enterprise device certification. The position requires working with Chipsets/OEMs/3rd Party Labs to create an overall strategic technical vision and roadmap for DISH Wireless Enterprise devices, which includes modules, smartphones, feature phones, tablets, hotspots, wearables, laptops, and other IOT devices.Key Responsibilities:Work with OEM and Product Managers to analyze, research and document technical requirements for new product/modem feature capabilities (e.g. eSIM, iSIM, VoNR, VoLTE, VoWifi, 5G) and develop Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), Device Requirements, Device Test Plans, as required in support of each enterprise project.Work with the Product Manager/Core/IT/RAN Engineering to understand the Enterprise Device roadmap and its impact on Network systems.Technical expertise in one or more of the following areasExperience with ACS & MDM systemsExperience with data models, like but not limited to TR-69, TR-369, TR-181Design, test, optimize, and implement solutions for 5G Cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth, IEEE 802.15Experience with standards bodies & certification forums (e.g. 3GPP, GSMA, PTCRB, CTIA, NIAP, DISA, FIPS 140-2 and FIPS 140-3 compliance, NMCI) (Preferred)Experience with product technical integration policies and platforms (e.g. EDI, VAN-services, XML/UEDF, APIs/services, batch feeds) (Preferred)Willing to travel 10-20% of the time – for feature alignment with vendors, validate device features, testing modem features and participate in debugging sessions.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, cooperate in teams, and present to executive-level teams as neededKnowledge on device/SIM activation, network provisioning, Value-Added-Services (VAS) for MVNO and MNO architectures, and device / SIM management engineering (e.g. experience with product configurations and MDM platforms/policies across Android & iOS products) (Preferred)Skills, Experience and RequirementsEducation and Experience:Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Telecommunications Engineering5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, system design and product development for smartphones, feature phones, tablets, hotspots, and IOT devices throughout the product life cycle2+ years of experience in cellular product network certification on network-specific configurations (e.g. DNN/APN, eSIM), network features testing (e.g. RF conformance and parametric testing, VoNR, RCS, iMessage, Facetime, RCS, roaming) and OSS/BSS integrationSkills and Qualifications:Collaborate with OEMs and Product Managers to analyze, research, and document technical requirements for new product features (e.g., eSIM, iSIM, VoNR, VoLTE, VoWiFi, 5G) and develop Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), Device Requirements, and Test Plans.Provide technical expertise in wireless technologies, including IMS, 5G, LTE, 3G, VoLTE, and WiFi Calling, along with L2/L3 protocols such as MAC, RLC, PDCP, SDAP, and control signaling.Design and analyze E2E call flows, including handover support across EPS, 5GC, VoNR, EPS Fallback, and N3IWF/ATSS/ANDSP.Proficient in IMS, SMS, MMS, supplementary calls, and VoWiFi, with experience in ACS and MDM systems, and data models like TR-69, TR-369, TR-181.Collaborate with Product Manager, Core, IT, and RAN Engineering teams to understand the Enterprise Device roadmap and its impact on network systems.Travel 10-20% of the time for feature alignment with vendors, device feature validation, testing modem features, and participating in debugging sessions.Salary RangesCompensation: $96,250.00/Year - $158,125.00/YearBenefitsWe offer versatile health perks, including flexible spending accounts, HSA, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, career opportunities, and a flexible time away plan; all benefits can be viewed here: DISH Benefits .The base pay range shown is a guideline.
