Job Summary:The Design Engineer II will support the growth of our Couplings business in the global market. The role involves cross-functional work with our global teams to select and design couplings based on customer specifications and drawings to develop reliable and cost-effective solutions, and create technical documentation such as engineering drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and layouts. This role will support new customer and supplier development and contribute to Material Cost Out (MCO) and New Product Development (NPD) projects. Additionally, this position will create and follow test plans and provide training and guidance to less experienced personnel.Responsibilities:Develops reliable and cost-effective coupling solutions, considering manufacturability and ease of installation and maintenance.Demonstrate proficiency in creating, reviewing, and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.Originate test requests and follow tests; organize, analyze, and summarize test data.Assists with the development of new customers and will help qualify new or existing products for customer applications.Performs and leads failure analyses, including detailed root cause analysis with effective corrective actions.Help lead the use of 3D CAD models along with FEA tools to design and analyze products.Visits customers to provide technical training, sales presentations, and support for coupling installation or failure analysis.Supports product and manufacturing transfers and restructuring projects.Leads and supports Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and Kaizen events to improve efficiency.Provides support for the development of marketing collateral such as white papers, brochures, and catalogs.Develops and present technical trainings (internal and external) as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelors in Engineering or other related fields or equivalent job experience; BSME preferred.3+ years of experience in engineering department, designing industrial products.10%-15% travel to manufacturing sites to understand processes and how designs impact coupling cost.Proven understanding and application of lean concepts such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, GEMBA, and Root Cause Analysis in line with the Regal Rexnord Business Systems.Customer-focused with a strong technical background and commercial aptitude and interest.Ability to coordinate activities and influence others in a cross-functional environment and capable of working with minimal supervision.Competent in Microsoft computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills.Previous experience designing rotating equipment (ex. couplings, pumps, turbines) and using industry standards such as AGMA, API, ISO, and ANSI preferred.Solid project management skills are a plus.Familiarity with CAD & FEA (for example SolidWorks, Creo, Solid Edge, or AutoCAD & ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran) is preferred.#LI-hybridBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug CoverageSpending accounts (HSA, Health Care FSA and Dependent Care FSA)Paid Time Off and Holidays401k Retirement Plan with Matching Employer ContributionsLife and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) InsurancePaid LeavesTuition AssistanceAbout Regal RexnordRegal Rexnord is a $6.5B publicly held global industrial manufacturer with 30,000 associates around the world who help create a better tomorrow by providing sustainable solutions that power, transmit and control motion.
