Please review the following job description:

Perform development efforts such as analysis, design, coding/creating, and testing. Able to work in team setting, consult and partner with tech and business teams to understand the end goal and offer solutions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Participate in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions.
  • Responsible for development and developing unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing.
  • Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner. Development includes but is not limited to customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or use tools pertinent to the area, project, or system to configure or generate a solution.
  • Responsible for providing warranty support and providing knowledge transfer to production support.
  • Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, and consulting with, the business from the beginning of the design work.
  • Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design.
  • Ensure adherence to company and industry standards. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
  • Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and six to ten years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience.
  • In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
  • Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practices.
  • Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Full-stack development skills, such as Java, SQL, REST, XML/XSLT, JSON, REST/SOAP, API management and Spring suite.
  • Experience with OpenShift/Docker, Containers and config management, app servers (IBM WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat), and caching technologies.
  • Experience with Unit testing, test automation, build tools and monitoring apps, such as Junit, Dynatrace, Splunk, Gradle, Git, Maven, and Jenkins and CI/CD process.
  • Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling) on DB2, MS SQL Server etc.
  • Experience with MQ, JMS, Kafka.
  • Experience working on Linux/Windows/AIX, Shell/bash scripting etc.
  • Strong team player with ability to work with diverse tech and support team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues in business terms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with IBM FTM product suite or payment processing experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry.

  • Availability: Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
