We have a wonderful and exciting opportunity for Applications Engineers living in the Horsham, PA or Minneapolis St. Paul, MN areas. You must live in one of these locations or near, as this is a hybrid position which will require you to report in the office 2-3 times per week.

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Applications/Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. A successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing thermal processing systems for various applications including dryers, ovens and roasting equipment. This role requires an understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer to ensure product performance. This is a key role within our organization, working within a collaborative team based selling model. This opportunity is based near Philadelphia (Horsham, PA) or the Minneapolis area.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct customer technology needs assessment, alignment with engineering standards, technology decision, and product sizing.
  2. Perform heat and mass balances and product design.
  3. Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to optimize system performance.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, project management, engineering.
  5. Conduct on-site process audits for customers to maximize efficiency of existing equipment.
  6. Develop long-term relationships with customers as a trusted advisor.
  7. Support customer and product testing in the Innovation Lab.
  8. Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, competitive offerings and regulatory changes.
  9. Conduct product presentations to showcase the value of our solutions.
  10. Clearly articulate CPM’s technology offerings and value proposition at trade shows and customer meetings.
  11. Provide feedback to improve existing offerings and opportunity areas for new product development.
  12. Define technical project needs to cost estimating and review estimates prior to project moving to proposal phase.
  13. Responsive to requests and inquiries from internal and external customers.
  14. Manage project timelines to ensure milestones and deliverables are met on schedule.
  15. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.

Minimum Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or related field.
  2. 3-5 years of technical experience in food, thermal, industrial processing.
  3. Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools.
  4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  5. Strong project management skills and ability to work collaboratively in team selling environment.
  6. Strong communication skills.

Desired Education and Experience:

  1. Thermal processing or industrial drying experience.
  2. Knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing processes.
