Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to lead setups, programming, and operations for our custom production runs. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with CNC machining, specifically with HAAS VF1 and VF2 machines. The ideal candidate is a versatile machinist proficient in both vertical mill and manual lathe operations, as well as plasma cutting. This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a dynamic environment, has a strong understanding of G-code (M-code knowledge is a plus), and is capable of training and mentoring junior machinists.
Key Responsibilities:
**Program, set up, and operate HAAS VF1 and VF2 machines for short custom runs.
**Quickly adapt to using vertical mills, manual lathes, and plasma cutters.
**Maintain tight tolerances, working with various metals including 17-4 steels, 836 steel, 6061 aluminum, and 304 steel.
**Set up, operate and program 3 & 5 axis lathes and mills (primarily 5-axis mills).
**Train and mentor new machinists in machine setups and operations.
**Ensure quality and efficiency in all machining processes.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
**Minimum 5 years of experience in programming/setting up 5-Axis Haas machines.
**Extensive experience with HAAS VF1 and VF2 machines.
**Proficiency in G-code and familiarity with HAAS controls (M-code is a plus).
**Strong ability to work with various materials, primarily metals.
**Experience in training and mentoring machinists.
**Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
**Reverse engineer parts brought in by customers without blueprints
