Job Overview:
As a Technical Operations Manager, you’ll provide support to the management team, Board of Directors, and residents through your knowledge and expertise of project duties involving engineering, mechanical systems, project management, construction, and code compliance.
This opportunity is available in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with unit owners on in-unit renovations by reviewing construction plans and ensuring compliance with the construction rules and regulations.
  2. Lead all minor and capital repair projects, including communication with vendors and onsite engineering team.
  3. Review all maintenance agreements for the proper scope of services and to ensure compliance with all contractual requirements.
  4. Monitor the automated building system and follow up on any changes or adjustments required.
  5. Act as a liaison in various capacities, including the Facilities and Energy Committee, City of Chicago departments, and Alderman for matters related to special or major capital repair projects, and code and building matters.
  6. Take lead on electric vehicle outlets in the garage and communicate with unit owners regarding the same.
  7. Manage all leaks, overseeing mitigation and restoration efforts, as well as communication with the unit owner regarding insurance responsibilities and claims handling.
  8. Work closely with General Manager, Engineering, Maintenance, and Janitorial Teams for facility maintenance concerns and in-unit work ticket matters.
  9. Provide on-call support to General Manager and Engineering Staff in the event of building emergencies.

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  2. Three years of experience in property management or project management preferred.
  3. Ability to work effectively with coworkers, clients, customers, and others by sharing ideas constructively and addressing problems to find mutually acceptable solutions.
  4. High energy attitude with the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
  5. Superior oral and written communication skills.
