WHY WE’RE HERE
As a Systems Test Engineer for our Space team, you own the space systems assembly, integration and test functions for qualification and flight hardware. You will be responsible for the test execution against derived requirements and conducting the tests within a safe manner. You will be responsible for testing space systems from supporting modules, to technology-differentiated payloads to full satellite systems. You will also be responsible for the development, maintenance and upgrading of test support hardware. This role is directly tied to an ongoing, funded programs within Anduril’s Space Business Line. The programs require building and fielding a resilient, software-defined spacecraft systems across numerous mission threads. We work with mission partners and operators to deploy reliable and robust capabilities on operationally-relevant fielding timelines to meet complex challenges across the DOD and IC.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead and own the integration and test campaigns for modules, payloads and full satellite systems
- Integrate across numerous teams to collaboratively identify testing requirements to include verification and validation plans
- Develop procedures for prototype, qualification and acceptance of space systems flight hardware
- Develop and maintain necessary mechanical and electrical ground support equipment for space systems hardware
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for space systems hardware
- Create and analyze metrics that are leveraged for debugging and monitoring
- Triage issues, root cause failures, corrective actions and coordinate next-steps
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other equivalent engineering field
- Experience conducting assembly, integration and test of space systems flight hardware with a focus on complete test coverage and high yield test campaigns
- Deep understanding of industry and government test standards
- Experience with space environmental testing including vibration, thermal vacuum and electromagnetic interference and compatibility.
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and detailed requirements.
- Capable of solving complex technical problems with little oversight
- Clear communication and organizational skills including documentation and training material
- Experience writing technical documentation, procedures, and reports
- Must be eligible to obtain and hold an US DoD security clearance (Secret, Top Secret, TS with SCI)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Python, Matlab and/or Linux systems
- A desire to work on critical software in the space domain.
- Experience with testing/validation leveraging FlatSats, Hardware-in-the-Loop testbeds
- Experience working in cleanroom and ESD-safe environments
- Understanding of sensors, signal conditioning and data acquisition electronics
- Experience with RF integration and testing
- Experience with optical systems integration and testing

US Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 USD. The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package. Additionally, Anduril offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees.
