Field/Geotechnical Engineer
Really looking for someone who has experience in the area (if possible) and a PE.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Define scopes for geotechnical investigations
Prepare proposals and travel to evaluation sites
Perform evaluation of subsurface conditions as they relate to the planned construction. The evaluation may include settlement calculations, bearing capacity calculations, determination of foundation options, etc
Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of geotechnical reports and boring logs
Provide continual development and maintenance of both internal and external relationships (clients, vendors, consultants).
Assist with the development of proposals and presentations for prospective projects.
Coordinate preparation of invoice
Attend meetings as necessary to develop scope, discuss findings, discussing foundation options, etc.
Coordinate with the CMT department during the construction phase to facilitate the implementation of recommendations in the prepared report
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering from US-Accredited Institution
- 3+ years’ experience of Geotechnical full-time work
- Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to use technology/computer
- Knowledge of geotechnical engineering calculations (soil settlement, bearing pressure, slope stability)
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, detailed reports, short correspondence, and memos
- Preferred Qualification Professional Engineering license (PE) or ability to achieve within 1 year.
