Electrical Designer - 24-00786
Direct hire opening with our client for an Electrical Designer.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, collaborating closely with CAD designers and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and compliance in electrical designs.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical load calculations for equipment sizing
- Create and modify site plans, floor plans, single line diagrams, interconnection diagrams, and schedule drawings using AutoCAD.
- Review client submittals and product data sheets to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.
- Determine conduit and wiring sizing using NEC tables.
- Select and specify motor-control centers, switchboards, panelboards, and transformers.
- Edit and develop CSI type specifications using Master specifications and Styles formatting tools for project manuals.
- Design electrical equipment and lighting layouts for control, chemical, process, and electrical rooms.
- Develop a solid understanding of medium voltage (1kV+) and low voltage systems, including 480/277 Volt (Wye), 240/120 Volt (Delta or Open Delta), 208/120 Volt (Wye), 120/240 Volt, and 24 Volt.
- Work with instrumentation such as flow meters, analyzers, and pressure transmitters.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a college or technical school.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design, including experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Experience with Revit is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of NEC standards for electrical design and load calculations.
- Familiarity with medium and low voltage electrical systems and equipment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in designing and specifying instrumentation and controls.
- Strong technical writing skills for editing and developing specifications.
- Proficiency in developing electrical layouts and plans in a variety of environments.
